Just now I received an sms from my friend, he was wishing(?) me for this day as well as reminding me about the preferential treatment that we get ,he also asked me that how doI plan to celebrate Manhood?I was shocked to hear it, especially from a so called "educated" , "sophisticated"and a man of  high society ,who thought that both the sexes were equal!!!.Celebrating Manhood? well since my child hood till the present date, I have only seen Manhood, and only Manhood   to be celebrated.I have seen families celebrating when a son is born,have seen the pale face of a mother when she delivered a baby girl,she was scared of her in laws......what would they say 'cause they wanted  a GHAR KA CHIRAG,I  read in the news papers every other day about baby girls thrown away and baby boys exchanged,a son is welcome to this world with open arms and a daughter is "mom's helping hand" Such is the case that we need a special woman's day ,wow thats great!Even this  day could not bring any changes  to the lifestyle of this race,specially in the backward classes  and the villages of our country.A girlchild is supposed to get up early in the morning, to make the tiffin for her brother, who would go to school,she is the child labour, working all the day  and simultaneously cursed because money for her Dahej has to be also accumulated .She is left uneducated, ignorant and helpless to struggle all her life.If anything happens to her, either her husband remarries or  he dies, she is left with no other option but to join the flesh trade for her survival.She is molested by the other male family members,or people outside the family, but when  she reports it,she is the one who is blamed, not the MAN who has molested her.Even  today the victim of a rape kills herself, but the rapist roams freely in our society .Only some seats in the busses ,or jobs for a few is not enough,education for every female child should be compulory,those who denies them, should be seriously punished.Health should also be taken care of,only a healthy mother can deliver a healthy child....the future of our country.Every woman should have the choice  to marry when they want, and after marriage they should decide when to have a child and how many.We see the lucky urban females and the independence that  they enjoy,but those who are born to the poor,uneducated and backward families, they suffer the most.it will be a real WOMAN'S day only then ,when each and every woman ,will hold a pen in her hand.
